Tasty Tuesday: Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joe

I adapted this recipe from here. I added green peppers because really, what is a cheesesteak without green peppers? I also just used sliced provolone instead of making a cheese sauce.

Serves: 4

Ingredients:
1 tbsp oil (I used olive and eyeballed it)
1 lb lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
Pepper (I omit salt from most recipes, feel free to add if you like)
1/4 cup A1 Steak Sauce
1 cup beef broth
4 slices provolone cheese
4 buns

Directions:
Heat oil in large fry pan. Add beef and cook and stir until well crumbled and cooked, about 5 – 6 minutes. Add onion, green pepper and salt & pepper. Cook green peppers and onions until tender, about 8 minutes.
Stir in HP sauce and beef stock. Bring to a bubble and cook about 2 minutes.

Is that not ridiculously simple? And it is tasty as well. It even got the stamp of approval from the born in Philly boyfriend.

I calculated the meat mixture to be 275 calories if split four ways. We got about 6 servings out of the mixture (but had 1 pound and 3 ounces of beef). With cheese and bun it came in under 600 calories for one.
