Life Goal

Ok, today’s prompt made me laugh out loud when I read it:

What’s one thing that your 10-year-old self thought you would do? Can you still do it? How would you approach it to make it happen?

Most of my childhood I wanted to be a professional dancer, not necessarily a ballerina though. I wanted to be a Rockette. Or in a contemporary dance troupe. Unfortunately the time for that dream has passed. I am far too old to become a professional dancer, most are retired by my age.

It would also be a little tough because I do not reach the height requirement for the Rockettes. LOL I am about a half-inch too short. I am about 5’5.5 and the requirement is 5’6. When I was in high school it became apparent I was not meant to be a professional dancer. I was short. I wasn’t fat but I wasn’t thin either. I was average. I gave up my dream and went into business.

Now that I am older I am tired of business. Growing up I wanted to be a dancer, an actress, a singer, an artist etc etc etc. Business does not allow me to have the creativity I crave. I grew up doing all kinds of creative endeavors I miss being artistic. I have since changed my dream and am working towards it.

Readers: What was your childhood dream? Did you pursue it?
